Kansas City will be home to a professional women’s basketball team again starting this May.The team is called the Kansas City Majestics and it will play in the Women’s Blue Chip Basketball League, which includes 40 developmental squads in nine regions.
Jade Tinner, who played for UMKC, is a co-owner and will play for the Majestics. She has been a part of the WBCBL for three years and is currently the director of marketing.
“I’m so excited to get the opportunity to bring some great basketball to Kansas City,” Tinner said in a statement. “Basketball has blessed me to do and see things I could have never dreamed of. I’m ready to get back on the court and show Kansas City how the game of basketball should be played.”
